Personally, I'd love to see the Lynx return to the UK wild. Wolves, bears and lynx have all been reintroduced back into the European wild, with positive results. In 1935, the Reichsnaturschutzgesetz (Reich Nature Protection Act) was passed in National Socialist Germany, which placed several native species on a protection list including the wolf and Eurasian lynx.

The Mümmelmann - as you've seen on my other blogs I've been concentrating on pagan Easter symbols - especially the Hare. Hermann Löns' Mümmelmann' (the Hare) was another of his books, but unfortunately there is no English translation. The photo above is a monument to Hermann Löns, and uses a Hare symbol instead of the usual Wolf-hook!
